Doctrine

  • Not a to-do list. Not a habit tracker. Not a checklist of dishes, email, or walking the dog. Not a replacement for current responsibilities. Critical tasks sit on top of the job.
  • Including Saturday and Sunday. Ignoring weekends leaves out about 30 percent of life.
  • If a task is done 21 days in a row it has become a habit. Keep the habit. Replace the line with a new critical task.
  • If the same five sit on the list longer than six months, the list is being used wrong. As goals evolve, tasks demand more.
  • Win enough days, win the week. Win enough weeks, win the month. Win enough months, win the year. Win enough years, win your life.
If you complete all 5 of your critical tasks between the time you wake up and the time you go to bed, you win the day. If you fail to complete all 5 of your critical tasks, you lose the day.
The habit of winning is built through consistently executing on your critical tasks.
Successful people make a plan and execute on that plan consistently over a long period of time. That is all it is.
Above anything else, if you can train yourself to execute every single day, you will win.
